Hydraulic cylinders convert pump pressure into linear push and pull force: force equals piston area times working pressure, while speed equals flow rate divided by that same area. This group covers the hard chrome plated rods and rotary drive units used when building or overhauling cylinders. Chrome plated rods are listed in Ø20, Ø28, Ø35, Ø40, Ø50, Ø55, Ø60, Ø100 and Ø110 mm; 6 metre lengths are available across the Ø30–Ø60 range. Hard chrome plating delays wear and corrosion where the rod runs through the seal and wiper, which is why diameter tolerance and surface finish matter as much as the base material. Because of buckling, rod diameter on long stroke cylinders is selected against free length, not only against pulling force. The group also includes single row slew drives, from SC 7-71 up to SC 25-150, with ring gear options between 156 and 625 teeth for cranes, platforms and rotating tables.
