As hydraulic oil gets hotter its viscosity falls: internal leakage grows, the lubricating film thins and both the seals and the oil age faster. Coolers remove the heat that the reservoir surface alone cannot reject and keep the circuit inside its target temperature band. The group covers two types. Air-oil (fan) heat exchangers are listed in body sizes from 2010 to 2075; catalogue figures give cooling capacities between 3,500 and 60,000 kcal/h, with radiator dimensions growing from 190×170×45 mm to 770×700×63 mm. Fan motors are offered in 12, 24 and 220 V as well as 380 V, and a thermostat is included with the unit. Ready-built BONDIOLI FR633 series fan coolers are also listed. On the water-oil side, OR 60 to OR 600 shell coolers serve plants with a chiller or process water supply. Sizing starts from heat load: capacity cannot be fixed without knowing the power lost as heat in the circuit, the difference between target oil temperature and ambient, and the flow passing through the cooler. A cooler is normally fitted in the return line, protected from pressure spikes. Send us your circuit power and target oil temperature and we will quote the right capacity.
