Industrial shock absorbers decelerate a moving mass at end of stroke in a controlled way, cutting impact force and noise. A correctly sized absorber is usually the cheapest way to prevent fatigue cracks in the machine frame, loosening joints and damage to the product being handled. Three families are listed. The AC series of non-adjustable units covers thread sizes from M8×1 to M36×1.5, strokes of 6–60 mm and mass ranges between 0.5 kg and 2,400 kg. The AD series of adjustable units grows from M14×1.5 up to a 64 mm body, with strokes of 10–100 mm and catalogue capacities from 80 kg to 23,636 kg, and its damping characteristic can be tuned on the machine. The HR series, designed for press applications, is offered with 15–60 mm strokes. Correct selection is never based on mass alone: impact velocity, cycles per hour, propelling force (for example the thrust of a pneumatic cylinder) and mounting angle are evaluated together. Non-adjustable units behave more consistently on fixed, repeating cycles, while adjustable units are preferred on lines where load or speed varies. Send us your mass, impact velocity and cycle rate and we will quote the right series and thread size.
